This is another one of the Top 10 scenic sights in West Lake. Apparently the original pagoda toppled in 1924. A new tower was constructed on top of the original base. The new tower is constructed to replicate the style of the original tower in the Song Dynasty.

During the Ming dynasty, Japanese pirates attacked Hangzhou. With a height of 71 x meters, Leifeng Pagoda stands by West Lake in Hangzhou. It was originally built in 977 to worship the hair of Buddha.
